GREEN OAK TWP. (WWJ) - A 24-year-old Livingston County man could potentially spend the rest of his life in prison after police say he tried to arrange a sexual encounter with a child in Minnesota.

Christopher Relitz, who has lived in Putnam and Green Oak townships over the past year, was arraigned Thursday on six felony charges, including child sexually abusive activity, accosting a child for immoral purposes, extortion, and using a computer to commit the crimes. He's currently being held in the Livingston County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Relitz was taken into custody Wednesday in Grand Blanc Township following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, in cooperation with the Washington County Sheriff's Department in Minnesota.

Details on the investigation have not yet been released, but police said the victim is a minor child who lives in Minnesota.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone who might have additional information on the case is urged to contact police at 517-540-7941.
