Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - The weekend is here, which means it's time for construction crews to hit the roads.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 between Schaefer Hwy and Rouge River Bridge will be closed intermittently for 15 minute periods between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday for utility work. Expect delays.

In Wayne County, north and south ramps to west M-8 (Davison), Oakland Ave and M-1 (Woodward Ave) will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work on M-8 (Davison).

Detour for southbound is south I-75 to west I-94 to north M-10 to west M-8 or south I-75 to west McNichols to access Oakland and M-1. I-75 traffic to M-10 can use I-94 or stay on I-75.

Detour for northbound is north I-75 to west I-94 to north M-10 to west M-8 or north I-75 to west McNichols to access Oakland or M-1. I-75 traffic to M-10 should use I-94 or stay on I-75.

M-53: (Van Dyke Ave)

In Macomb County, north M-53 at Masonic will have the right lane closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for utility work.

M-59:

In Macomb County, east and west M-59 at Van Dyke Avenue will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for utility work.

M-10:

In Wayne County, north and south M-10 under Warren Avenue will have lane closures from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for bridge work. The Forest Avenue ramp to north M-10 will be closed.

In Wayne County, south M-10 ramp to east M-8 (Davison Fwy) will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work. Detour is south M-10 to east I-94 to north I-75 to east M-8.

M-8 (Davison Fwy)/Oakland Ave:

In Wayne County, south Oakland Avenue over M-8 (Davison Fwy) closed on 3/23 and remains closed until 10/2/2015 for bridge work. Detour is south Oakland to west M-8 (Davison) service drive to the crossover west of M-1 (Woodward) to the east M-8 service drive to south Oakland.

In Wayne County, east and west M-8 (Davison Fwy) will be closed between Oakland Avenue and I-75 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work. East M-8 will be open to the Woodward and Oakland exits. Westbound M-8 will be open to I-75. Detour for east M-8; is south M-10 to east I-94 to north I-75 to east M-8. For west M-8; is south I-75 to west I-94 to north M-10 to west M-8.

In Wayne County, east M-8 (Davison Fwy) ramp to north and south I-75 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work. Detour is east M-8 to south M-10 to east I-94 to south I-75. M-10 traffic should stay on M-10 or I-94 to connect with I-75.

In Wayne County, west M-8 (Davison Fwy) ramp to Oakland Avenue and M-1 (Woodward Ave) closed 3/25 and remains closed until 10/2/2015. Detour is west M-8 to north I-75 to west McNichols to Oakland Avenue or M-1 (Woodward Ave).

I-375:

In Wayne County, south I-375 ramp to Madison Avenue has one lane blocked intermittently until 7/6/2015. There will NOT be lane closures during downtown events.

Construction continues:

M-53: (Van Dyke Ave)

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 (Van Dyke) between 14 1/2 Mile and 18 Mile Roads has the left lane closed through Friday, 5/15/15.

Also, 16 Mile Road has one lane blocked, leaving only two lanes open in each direction at M-53. And eastbound 18 Mile Road has one lane blocked, leaving only one lane open.

I-75:

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 under Woodward Ave (M-1) has a single lane closed for M-1 construction over freeway through June 2015.

M-85: (Fort St)

In Wayne county, M-85 (Fort St) bridge over the Rouge River is closed between Oakwood and Miller Road through Spring 2015.

I-94/I-69: (Military/Huron St)

In St. Clair County, north and south I-94 Business Loop/I-69 Business Loop over the Black River is closed for bridge maintenance through the end of March.

M-29:

In St. Clair County, M-29 remains closed over the Pine River for bridge maintenance work through the end of March. Follow the posted using Puttygut (cars) or Chartier (trucks), King, Fred Moore Hwy, and Clinton Ave.

M-59:

In Macomb County, east and west M-59 between Elizabeth Street and I-94 will have a moving two-lane closure through 3 p.m. Monday for survey work.

In Macomb County, west M-59 (Huron Road) at Mohawk Road will have the right lane closed intermittently through 4/4/15 for utility work.

Beginning next week:

I-69:

In St. Clair County, west I-69 from M-19 to Taylor Road will have one lane closed from 7 a.m. Monday to 4/3/15 for road work.

In St. Clair County, east I-69 east of Taylor Road will have one lane closed from 7 a.m. Monday to 5/5/15 for road work.

In St. Clair County, east I-69 near M-19 will have one lane closed from 7 a.m. Monday to 5/5/15 for road work.
