95-Year-Old Woman In Motorized Wheelchair Struck By Vehicle In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - A 95-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorized wheelchair.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday on Second Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, between the Lodge Freeway and Woodward Avenue.
According to police, the woman was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a minivan. The driver, a 27-year-old woman, stopped at the scene and was questioned by police.
The elderly woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she was last reported in critical condition. Her name was not released.
The accident remains under investigation.
