Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car Along Telegraph Road

FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities say a 55-year-old Monroe man was killed when he was struck by a car while walking along Telegraph Road.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. Friday just north of Grafton Road in Frenchtown Township.

According to police, a 34-year-old Monroe man was driving in the right southbound lane on Telegraph Road when his vehicle struck a pedestrian, Robert Wray.

Police said Wray, who was dressed in dark clothing, was reportedly crossing Telegraph from east to west when he was struck. He was declared dead at the scene.

The driver, who was uninjured, stayed at the scene and was questioned by police.

The crash remains under investigation.
