DETROIT (WWJ) – Grab your biggest cup and get ready for a brain freeze.
For one day only — this Saturday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — 7-Eleven is inviting customers to bring their own cups from home to fill with their favorite Slurpee flavor for the low price of just $1.49.
So while you’re invited to bring your biggest cup, there are still rules. Sorry, trash cans and inflatable swimming pools are not eligible.
Your container must be able to fit through a 10-inch cardboard cutout next to the Slurpee machine. Your cup also must be food safe and watertight. And don’t get over zealous — one cup per person.
This is the first time BYOCup Day has been held in the United States, although 7-Eleven stores in Australia, Canada, the Philippines and Malaysia have held BYOCup Days in the past.
“From sand buckets to trophies, customers can unleash their creativity by bringing in their choice of a unique, fun Slurpee cup,” said Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation.
