Sex Offender Charged After 2 Kids Fondled At Michigan Cemetary

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP (AP) - A Lansing-area man and registered sex offender has been charged with criminal sexual conduct and gross indecency after two children said they were fondled at a cemetery.

The Lansing State Journal reports Friday 34-year-old Joshua Harding of Okemos faces an April 23 preliminary examination.

A 13-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl told police they were assaulted April 1 as they played in a wooded area at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Meridian Township.

An investigation revealed that a woman recently buried at the cemetery had a son who was a registered sex offender. The son matched the description given by the children.

Court records show Harding does not yet have an attorney.

The newspaper reports that Harding has spent more than 10 years in prison for previous sex-related crimes.
