TROY (WWJ) – The FBI has put up a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an Oakland County bank robber.

The suspect held up a TCF Bank branch, on Coolidge near Maple in Troy, Thursday morning — getting away on foot with a black plastic bag full of cash.

Troy Police Captain Bob Redmond police got to the bank within a minute, but it was a minute too late to catch the robber; and an immediate helicopter search of the area turned up no sign of him.

Was he armed?

“He implied that he had a weapon in his pocket, but we don’t know for sure,” Redmond said. “So I would always assume that it is true… err on the side of caution.”
