Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work
DETROIT (WWJ) - Road work season is in full swing in metro Detroit, which means those orange construction barrels are everywhere.
The following projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
I-94:
In Wayne County, east and west I-94 between M-10 and I-75 will have two left lanes closed, leaving only one lane open, from 9 pm Friday to 12 pm Sunday for bridge work.
In Wayne County, west I-94 ramp to Beaubien and M-1 (Woodward) will close 9 pm Fri-5 am Mon.
I-75:
In Oakland County, north and south I-75 between Clintonville and M-15 (Ortonville) will have two lanes closed, leaving only one lane open, from 10 pm Friday through Monday, reopening between 5 am and 6 am.
In Oakland County, north and south I-75 between Adams and 12 Mile will two lanes closed nightly from 8 pm Monday to 5 am, nightly through Friday for road work.
In Oakland County, south I-75 from University Drive to Chrysler Drive will have the left lane and right shoulder closed from 9 am Friday to 2 pm Saturday for road work.
In Wayne County, north and south I-75 ramps to west I-94 will be closed from 9 pm Fri-5am Mon for bridge work. Detour uses I-75 to M-8 to M-10 to I-94.
I-96:
In Wayne County, east and west I-96 at Inkster Rd will have lane closures from 8 am to 6 pm Saturday for bridge inspection.
M-10:
In Wayne County, north and south M-10 ramps to east I-94 will be closed from 9 pm Fri to 12 pm Sun for bridge work on I-94. Detour is north I-75 to east I-94.
M-3 (Gratiot):
In Macomb County, north M-3 (North Gratiot) from Church St to North River Rd will be closed from 6 am-3 pm Sat for race.
In Macomb County, north M-3 (Gratiot) at M-59 will have one lane closed from 9 pm Fri-5 am Sat for construction.
M-59:
In Oakland County, east and west M-59 between Widetrack and Crooks Rd will have lane closures 8 am -8 pm, Sat and Sun for road work.
In Macomb County, east and west M-59 (Hall Rd) from Elizabeth Road and I-94 will have two lanes closed from 9 pm Fri through 5 am Monday for road work.
M-97 (Groesbeck):
In Macomb County, south M-97 (Groesbeck) at M-59 (Hall) will have single lane closures from 9 pm Fri to 5 am Mon for road work.
Construction Continues On...:
M-53: (Van Dyke Ave)
In Macomb County, north and south M-53 (Van Dyke) between 14 1/2 Mile and 18 Mile Roads has the left lane closed through Friday, 5/15/15.
Also, 16 Mile Road has one lane blocked, leaving only two lanes open in each direction at M-53. And eastbound 18 Mile Road has one lane blocked, leaving only one lane open.
I-75:
In Oakland County, south I-75 from M-15 (Ortonville Rd) to Clintonville Rd has weekday nightly double lane closures from 8 pm through 5 am through 10/15 for construction.
In Oakland County, 12 Mile Rd at I-75 has lane closures through Sat, 5/30 for bridge work.
In Oakland County, I-75 at Crooks Rd will have single lane closures daily from 9 am-3 pm through Friday 4/24 for construction.
In Wayne County, north and south I-75 under Woodward Ave (M-1) has a single lane closed for M-1 construction over freeway through June 2015.
In Wayne County, north and south I-75 ramps to Oakland Ave and M-1 (Woodward Ave) remain closed until 10/02/15. Detour is northbound or southbound I-75 to westbound McNichols to Oakland Avenue or M-1.
I-375:
In Wayne County, south I-375 ramp to Madison Avenue has one lane blocked intermittently until 7/6/2015. There will not be lane closures during downtown events.
M-85: (Fort St)
In Wayne County, M-85 (Fort St) bridge over the Rouge River is closed between Oakwood and Miller Road through Spring 2015.
I-69:
In St. Clair County, west I-69 from M-19 to Taylor Road has one lane closed through 5/5/15 for road work.
In St. Clair County, east I-69 near Taylor Road has one lane closed through 5/5/15 for road work.
In St. Clair County, east I-69 near M-19 will have one lane closed from through 5/5/15 for road work.
I-94/I-69:
In St. Clair County, east I-94 from Range Road to Lapeer Road has the left lane closed through 9/15 for road work.
In St. Clair County, west I-94 from Lapeer Road to Griswold has the left lane closed through 9/15 for road work.
US-24:
In Wayne County, south US-24 (Telegraph Rd) from Vreeland and Will Carlton will have single lane closures daily 9am-3pm through 4/30/15 for road work.
In Wayne County, north US-24 near Warren Ave will have daily lane closures from 9 am Monday to 5/15 for utility work.
M-8 (Davison Fwy)/Oakland Ave:
In Wayne County, south Oakland Avenue over M-8 (Davison Fwy) remains closed until 10/2/2015 for bridge work. Detour is south Oakland to west M-8 service drive to the crossover west of M-1 (Woodward) to the east M-8 service drive to south Oakland.
In Wayne County, west M-8 (Davison Fwy) ramp to Oakland Ave and M-1 (Woodward Ave) closed until 10/2/2015. Detour is west M-8 to north I-75 to west McNichols to Oakland Ave or M-1.
M-1 (Woodward):
In Wayne County, M-1 between Alexandrine and Kirby streets has multiple lane closures through October for M-1 rail work. Also, M-1 between Adams and Alexandrine streets and between Kirby and Chandler streets, north of Grand Blvd.
M-24:
In Oakland County, south M-24 (Lapeer) from I-75 to Opdyke Rd will have lane closures daily from 9 am-3 pm from Saturday to 4/30 for maintenance work.
In Oakland County, both directions of M-24 (Lapeer) between Drahner Rd and Harriet St will have daily lane closures from 9 am-3 pm Saturday to 4/30 for maintenance work.
In Oakland County, M-24 (Lapeer Rd) from Isiah Thomas Drive to I-75 ramps will have intermittent lane closures daily from 9 am-3 pm through 5/21 for traffic signal work.
M-10: (Northwestern Hwy)
In Oakland County, north and south M-10 between Nottingham Knoll to Orchard Lake Rd will have single lane closures through June.
