CBS DETROIT – Michigan State has released wide receiver Andre Sims Jr. from his scholarship, the university announced Tuesday, so he can play elsewhere in his last year of eligibility. Sims graduated Friday with a degree in journalism.
“The fact Andre completed his degree in four years is a testament to his work ethic,” Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio stated in a press release. “He’s a quality person, and we wish him the best of luck as he enters his final season of competition.”
Sims finished his career with the Spartans with 13 catches for 104 yards and one touchdown. He also returned 27 punts for 224 yards.
