PORTAGE, Mich. (AP) – A passenger in a vehicle has been shot to death and the driver wounded after they led police on a chase in southwestern Michigan.
Police initially tried to stop the vehicle about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Kalamazoo County. It was stopped about 30 minutes later in a parking lot at Anna’s Vineyard Apartments in Portage, south of Grand Rapids.READ MORE: Boil-Water Alert Could Last 2 Weeks For Some In SE Michigan

Resident Jessica Kruizenga tells WOOD-TV that she heard a commotion, looked outside and saw officers shoot into the vehicle.
