Job Fair: Creative New Restaurant MOD Pizza Looking To Hire At 2 Locations

LIVONIA (WWJ) - If you love pizza and are looking for a job -- you might just be in luck.

MOD Pizza, a concept restaurant that serves individual pizzas, is hosting a job fair to fill 66 positions at its Livonia and Northville restaurants, which are both slated to open this summer.

"What MOD Pizza is, is an individual artisan-style pizza that's made on demand and cooked in our 800-degree brick oven in less than five minutes," Jacob Schostak, MOD brand leader for TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants told WWJ's Chrystal Knight. "Along with our gluten-free crust that we offer, we also can do made to order salads."

The job fair is being held Thursday, May 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Livonia Marriott, on North Laurel Park Drive.

"We'll be looking for friendly, hard-working, passionate and memorable people with flexible schedules and a desire to build a positive dining experience for our guests," said Schostak. "And we're hiring for all positions: cashiers, cooks, prep, people to talk to our guests and teach them about our brand, as well as pizza makers -- and we call them all 'The MOD Squad.'"

Interested job applicants can bring a resume, although it's not required. Being yourself, however, is a must.

"We are hiring people for who they are. So come dressed like yourself and we'll be happy to meet you like that," said Schostak.

And more job opportunities will be coming in the future. Schostak said their plan is to open 25 MOD restaurants across Michigan over the next five years.

The Livonia store, located on Middlebelt Road just south of the I-96 Jeffries Freeway in front of Menards, is currently under construction but is expected to open in June. A second location in Northville, at 7 Mile and Haggerty roads, is slated for an August opening.
