Man Accused Of Strangling Wife, 2 Kids With USB Cord Ordered To Stand Trial

EASTPOINTE (WWJ/AP) - A 38-year-old Eastpointe man has been ordered to stand trial in the strangulation of his wife, their 2-year-old daughter and their 8-year-old son.

A district judge ruled Tuesday that there's enough evidence to try Timothy Fradeneck on first-degree murder and other charges.

Police say Fradeneck used a USB cord to kill his 37-year-old wife Christine, daughter Celeste and son Timothy on April 13. After killing his family, Fradeneck allegedly tucked the bodies into their beds, according to police.

Investigators say Fradeneck told them he'd been thinking about killing his family since last August, and acted on the plan because the opportunity presented itself. He also allegedly said he planned to kill himself as well, but failed. Police say Fradeneck said he wanted his family dead "to spare them the heartache" of his death.

Fradeneck remains jailed without bond and is due back in Macomb County Circuit Court for a hearing June 15.
