CANTON (WWJ) — Emergency responders were on the scene of a fire at a car wash and nearby oil change shop in Canton on Monday night.

Witnesses said that the fire inside of the Canton City Car Wash on Canton Center at Ford Rd. began shortly before 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. Steven Bonello works across the street from the car wash at a Biggby Coffee Shop.

“You see a lot of people who have been parking in our parking lot and actually just going up and just watching the flames going on as they’re trying to kind of attack the fire, get it a little bit under control,” Bonello said. “The police have actually closed off Canton Center road for north and southbound traffic.”

Due to the investigation, Canton Center Rd. from Ford Rd. to Hanford Rd. will be closed. There is no word of any injuries or what may have caused the fire.
