Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - The weekend is here again, which means construction crews are going to be out in full force.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Wayne County, east and west I-94 between I-75 and M-10 will have a total closure from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work at M-1. Detour for east I-94 to south M-10 to north I-75 to east I-94. Detour for west I-94 to south I-75 to north M-10 to west I-94.

In Wayne County, west I-94 ramp to Beaubien Street and M-1 (Woodward) will close. Also, Chene Street ramp to west I-94 and 14th Street ramp to east I-94.

In Wayne County, east and west I-94 between Belleville Road to Wayne Road will have two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

I-96:

In Wayne County, west I-96/M-14 from Farmington Road to Sheldon Road will have double lane closures from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

In Wayne County, west I-96 service drive on ramp at Newburgh will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for road work. Detour is Farmington Road.

In Wayne County, west I-96/M-14 ramp to Sheldon Road will be closed 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also, Sheldon ramp to west M-14.

In Wayne County, east and west I-96 ramp to east I-94 will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for I-94 closure. Detour is east I-96 to north I-75 to east I-94. For west detour or Ambassador Bridge detour, use north I-75 to east I-94.

In Oakland County, east I-96 from Milford Road to Novi Road will have two lanes closed nightly from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for construction.

I-275:

In Wayne County, north I-275 ramp to M-153 (Ford Road) will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work. And west M-153 (Ford Rd) to south I-275.

I-75:

In Oakland County, north I-75 from Coolidge Road to Adams Road will have left lane closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for road work.

In Oakland County, south I-75 from Adams Road to 12 Mile will have two lanes closed from 10 p.m. to Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday for overnight road work.

In Oakland County, north and south I-75 at Flemings Lake Road will have a 15 minute total closure from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday for utility crossing.

In Oakland County, south I-75 from University Drive to Featherstone will have right lane closed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday for construction.

In Oakland County, ramp from Chrysler Drive to University Drive/north I-75 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 ramps to west I-94 will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for I-94 closure. Detour: south I-75 to north M-10 to west I-94 or north I-75 to west M-8 to south M-10 to west I-94.

In Wayne County, Clay Street ramp to south I-75 will close from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Detour is north I-75 to west Holbrook to south I-75.

I-696:

In Oakland County, east and west I-696 between US-24 (Telegraph) and Southfield Road will have one lane closed daily for maintenance work.

M-10:

In Wayne County, north and south M-10 ramps to east I-94 will close 9 p.m. Friday 5 a.m. Monday for I-94 closure. Detours are north I-75 to east I-94.

M-150: (Rochester Rd)

In Oakland County, north and south M-150 (Rochester Road) between M-59 and Avon Road will have right lane closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday for road work.

M-3: (Gratiot)

In Macomb County, north M-3 at M-59 will have one lane closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

In Macomb County, north and south M-3 (26 Mile) between Gratiot Avenue and I-94 will have multiple lane closures from 9 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Saturday, June 13 for maintenance work.

M-97:

In Macomb County, south M-97 at M-59 will have one lane closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-59:

In Oakland County, east and west M-59 between Elizabeth Road and I-94 will have double-lane closures from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-29:

In Macomb County, north and south M-29 (23 Mile Road) between I-94 and Baker Road will have nightly lane closures from 9 p.m. Sunday to Saturday, June 13 for maintenance work.

In St. Clair County, north and south M-29 over the Pine River will have one lane closed until 12 p.m. Sunday with flag control, for bridge work.

US-24:

In Oakland County, east US-24 BR (Square Lake) to north I-75 ramp will have one lane closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday for utility work.

Construction Continues On...

I-75:

In Wayne County, both directions of I-75 near I-94 (Piquette Avenue to Ferry Street) has the left lane closed til mid-June for bridge work.

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 under Woodward (M-1) has a lane closed for M-1 construction until June 2015.

In Wayne County, north and south I-75 ramps to Oakland Avenue and M-1 (Woodward) remain closed until October 2. Detour is northbound or southbound I-75 to westbound McNichols to Oakland Avenue or M-1.

I-94:

In Wayne County, east I-94 ramp to north I-75 is closed until mid-June for bridge work. Detour is east I-94 to north M-10 to east M-8 (Davison) to north I-75.

M-53: (Van Dyke)

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 (Van Dyke) between 14 1/2 Mile and 18 Mile roads has two lanes open through September. Additionally, 15 Mile Road at M-53 has construction.

I-69:

In St. Clair County, I-69 from west of M-19 to east of Taylor Road has one lane open in each direction through September 28. The east I-69 exit to Taylor Road is also closed through September 28 for road work.

I-94/I-69:

In St. Clair County, east I-94 from Range Road to Lapeer Road has the left lane closed through September 15.

In St. Clair County, west I-94 from Lapeer Road to Griswold has the left lane closed through September 15.

In St. Clair County, Lapeer Road closed at I-94/I-69 from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday for night bridge work.

 M-8 (Davison Fwy)/Oakland Ave:

In Wayne County, south Oakland Ave over M-8 (Davison Freeway) remains closed until October 2 for bridge work. Detour is west M-8 service drive to crossover west of M-1 (Woodward) to east M-8 service drive to south Oakland.

In Wayne County, west M-8 (Davison Freeway) ramp to Oakland Ave and M-1 (Woodward Ave) closed until October 2. Detour is west M-8 to north I-75 to west McNichols to Oakland Ave or M-1.

M-1 (Woodward):

In Wayne County, M-1 between Alexandrine and Kirby streets has multiple lane closures through October for the M-1 Rail. Also, M-1 between Adams and Alexandrine and Kirby and Chandler, north of Grand Boulevard.

M-85: (Fort St)

In Wayne County, M-85 (Fort Street) over Rouge River is closed between Oakwood and Miller through July.
