12-Year-Old Injured In Drive-By Shooting While Playing Outside

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 12 year old boy has been shot in the leg, while playing outside.

Detroit police tell WWJ, the shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday on S. Beatrice near Frances, in the Fort Street and Schaefer area in southwest Detroit.

Police Sgt. Cassandra Lewis says a white Dodge Charger drove by and someone shot the boy.

Police are looking for the car and the shooter. The boy is in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
