Teen Accused Of Impersonating Gun-Toting FBI Agent Returning To Michigan To Face Charges

YPSILANTI TWP. (WWJ/AP) - A 17-year-old boy who authorities say pretended to be an FBI agent will soon be returned to Michigan from Ohio to face charges.

Juvenile charges against the boy of furnishing false information and receiving stolen property were dismissed Thursday in juvenile court in Lucas County, Ohio. Prosecutors say the case will best be dealt with in Michigan, where he'll face charges as an adult.

According to reports, the teen will be charged with unlawful driving away from an auto and could face additional charges for impersonating an FBI agent.

Authorities say the teen called the Cueter Chrysler dealership in Ypsilanti Township in May and asked to test drive a 2015 Dodge Charger. They say he told dealership employees he was an FBI agent and was carrying what appeared to be a firearm on his hip. The weapon was later revealed to be an Airsoft air gun.

The teen drove the car to the Toledo, Ohio, area, where he crashed. Authorities say he again presented himself as an FBI agent to officers, and was taken into custody.

The Charger, which was totaled in the accident, was valued around $28,000.
