2 Men Arrested In Washtenaw County Home Invasion, Murders

YORK TWP. (WWJ) - Michigan State Police say two men have been taken into custody in connection with a home invasion and two murders that occurred last weekend in Washtenaw County.

According to police, a 25-year-old Dundee man and a 33-year-old Monroe man were arrested Thursday morning. Both are being held at the Washtenaw County Jail ahead of an arraignment Friday. It's unclear what charges they will be facing.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. last Saturday at a home on Crane Road in York Township. Police did not release details of the attack, but said five people were stabbed, including two who were fatally wounded. Those killed include 12-year-old Timber Brown and his 26-year-old half-brother, Jon Brown.

Three victims remain hospitalized, including Nicole Skinner, who was slashed in the hand and neck in the attack. Another victim, Timber Brown's mother Vicki Moore, reportedly suffered more than a dozen stab wounds and remains on a ventilator. The remaining victim is the homeowner, according to reports.

Skinner told WWJ's Ron Dewey that she and her children were visiting family at the home, just south of Ann Arbor, after attending a NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway.

"Me and Jon Brown were downstairs, sleeping on separate couches. We both heard a scream and I ran upstairs first, he was behind me," Skinner said. "I come to the top of the stairs, the guy swung, I lifted my hand up — that's when my hand got cut. I seen Vicki and Timber in the bedroom on the floor, so I ducked; that's when he got my neck…I'm lucky even to be alive."

Skinner said she doesn't know who her attacker was or what the motive might have been, but she — like police — does not believe this was a random crime. She said it appeared the stabber went directly to her cousin's room when he entered the home.

"Nobody knew it was gonna happen," she added. "We all felt safe."

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 810-227-1051.
