ALLEN PARK - After the last day of mandatory minicamp for the Detroit Lions, head coach Jim Caldwell provided an update on the status of veteran defensive end Jason Jones.

"He's out for the last couple days, but he should be back with us in the fall," Caldwell said Thursday. "He had a little bit of an injury that he got taken care of, so things should be good."

Caldwell declined to specify the nature of the injury or the procedure involving in addressing it.

"We don't talk about injuries and all that kind of stuff," Caldwell said. "We don't put out an injury report right now, so we're not going to talk about it."

After missing most of the 2013 season with injury, Jones started all 16 games for the Lions last year. He turned in five sacks, forced two fumbles and defended three passes. Jones is going into his eighth NFL season.
