DETROIT (WWJ) – Do you recognize this young man in red?
Detroit police have released photos and video of a suspect wanted for shooting an 18-year-old woman in Greektown last Saturday night.
The gunman is described as a black heavy-set, male between 16 and 18 years old. He was wearing a red jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, black shoes with red laces and was last seen getting into a Black Nissan Sentra.
The young victim was shot several times while walking with a friend, at around 11:30 p.m., along Monroe Street between St. Antoine and Beaubien. Police said her injuries were non-life-threatening.
It was one of two shootings over two days in Greektown — a busy entertainment district known as one of the safest areas of the city.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the images or who has any information about the shooting is urged to call Detroit police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. As always, tipsters to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous.
