Something To See: Marvin Yagoda And His Marvelous Mechanical Museum [VIDEO]

One of the most unusual museums in the world is right here in metro Detroit, and it's a labor of love for Marvin Yagoda.

"It started when I was in Talley Hall that was a food court and I had a little booth there ..." When Talley Hall closed he went independent on the encouragement from a friend.

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum (31005 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills) is a place where you can play Tic-Tac-Toe with an animatronic chicken. The place is packed floor to ceiling with games and oddities from around the world. The walls are decorated with vintage Vaudville, circus and magic act posters.

One of Yagoda's prized possessions is a Detroit-made scale from 1900.

It's an unorthodox place of business and a fantastic point of interest for its patrons. Yagoda offers some words of wisdom to others with big ideas. "Don't dream about what you want to do. Stay awake and do it," he said.
