DETROIT (WWJ) – A man suspected of abducting a woman near Detroit’s Mexican Town is in police custody after his victim allegedly jumped from a moving van, according to reports.

Officers located the vehicle but when they tried to stop the minivan, which had been reported stolen, the suspect sped off. A brief chase ensued, during which the woman apparently jumped from the moving vehicle when the suspect slowed near the area of Michigan Avenue and Junction Street.
The suspect reportedly kept driving for about another mile, until he got out of the car near of Plumer and Manson streets and took off on foot. Police are apparently still searching for the victim.
