Andiamo Opens Restaurant In Detroit Metro Airport

ROMULUS (CBS Detroit) - Passengers traveling to, or from, Mexico, California or many other destinations can get a taste of Italy at the new Andiamo restaurant at Detroit Metropolitan Airport's McNamara Terminal.
The new location, which is located in concourse A of the terminal, will offer many of Andiamo's traditional favorites along with an expanded menu which includes breakfast and lunch dishes.
"We are excited to partner with Midfield Concession Enterprises, which is an award-winning food and beverage operator in many of the nation's larger airports," said Joe Vicari, founder and CEO of Andiamo Restaurant Group, in a release.
The new Andiamo location will be open 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily, and joins Chick-fil-A and Qdoba which are some of the 25 new food, beverage and retail concepts announced last year for airport.
Some of the menu highlights include:
- Breakfast: lemon ricotta pancakes, Italian-style French toast, Fritatta Roma (eggs with bacon, ham, spinach, mushrooms, tomato, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese with pesto), Joe's Stacked Ciabatta Sandwich (sunnyside egg, salami , Italian sausage, pancetta, shaved ham, mushrooms, mozzarella and Ammoglio aioli) and an Italian-inspired omelettes,
- Lunch and dinner: Andiamo's traditional minestrone soup; appetizers such as calamari fritti and sausage and peppers; four styles of pizzas as well as build-your-own with a variety of toppings; panini; salads including Caprese, Caesar and arugula; grilled Atlantic salmon, chicken or veal available in four different preparations - Marsala, Scallopini, Picata or Parmesan; made-from-scratch pasta served with choice of eight signature sauces; grilled salmon and a 6 oz. filet.
The menu also includes vegetarian and gluten-free options.
