Man Lands On Opposite Side Of I-75 In Fiery Rollover Crash

GROVELAND TWP. (WWJ) - A 59-year-old man landed on the opposite side of the freeway after being ejected from his vehicle during a fiery rollover crash on I-75 that authorities believe was influenced by alcohol.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. Friday on I-75 near Grange Hall Road in Groveland Township.

According to police, a vehicle was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when the driver suddenly lost control. The vehicle rolled over across the grassy median and landed in the southbound lanes of I-75, where it was struck by another vehicle and burst into flames.

The driver was ejected from his vehicle and suffered extensive injuries. He was taken to a hospital in Genesee County and is currently listed in critical condition.

The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured.

Police say the injured driver is believed to have been under the influence of either alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.

And investigation is ongoing.
