Naked Man Arrested At Grocery Store Meat Counter [PHOTOS]

By Christy Strawser

NOVI (CBS Detroit) With his privates nestled up against the glass of the meat counter, a naked man got plenty of attention at the Kroger in Novi this weekend.

He was standing fully nude against the counter at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, near a display of seafood on sale with a sign that proclaimed "great food, low prices."

Officers were called, and the 61-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for an evaluation.

He appeared to be in some kind of mental distress, onlookers said, and was speaking unintelligibly.

"There was no criminal intent," said Assistant Police Chief Jerrod Hart, adding "It was an unfortunate event in that this gentleman had this episode in a public place."

At one point, he lay down on the floor.

The incident was captured in a series of photos shared on Facebook by Milford resident Brandon Boudreau. He hasn't yet responded to calls seeking comment.

But he garnered plenty of interaction on Facebook.

"I can't believe my eyes right now!" Shannon Mackenzie Middleditch wrote.

Another wrote: "I'm crying right now."

Boudreau added that he's received about 100 friend requests since he posted the photos.
