Rehab Addict's Nicole Curtis Sets Sights On Brush Park Project
DETROIT (WWJ) - She's known as HGTV's "Rehab Addict" and Lake Orion native Nicole Curtis has a new addiction in the form of Detroit's Brush Park. She's fixing up the Ransom Gilles mansion, which was built in the 1870s.
Detroiter Michael Jefferson is happy that the 140-year old home is getting a makeover.
"I can only imagine what they're going to be like once they complete this renovation and the outside is beautiful to the eye - so you can only imagine what the inside will look like upon completion," said Jefferson.
He's still surprised by the attention his little neighborhood is getting:
"Unfortunately, even locally, we probably have individuals that probably would like to see Detroit's failure, however, I just have to say, people are going to have to accept the fact that Detroit is on the rebound - it's on the rebound - a long way to go but we are on the rebound. I'm seeing some positive things happen," he said.
The home, at Alfred and John-R, is just a few blocks away from Ford Field and Comerica Park.
It's at least the third home that Curtis, who's from Michigan, has rehabbed in Detroit.
