DETROIT (WWJ) – If you’re headed to the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend, don’t forget to bring sunglasses — you’re going to need them!

Saturday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high around 87 degrees, perfect for riding down Woodward in a classic cruiser or just taking in the sights with friends and family.

“Temperatures will remain on the warm side with just a minimal chance for a shower,” said Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus. “The high is in the upper 80s but with the humidity, it could feel closer to 100.”

So, it’s going to be a hot one Saturday. But let’s pump the brakes for just a minute. What about Friday? Madaus said there’s a chance for showers and storms.

“It’s going to be a warm, humid Friday and feel pretty uncomfortable this afternoon,” he said. “We’ll see a couple of showers roll through southeast Michigan and later on, thunderstorms will be moving right through the area.”

Here’s the forecast from the CBS Detroit weather team:

Friday: Cloudy early with scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 86F. Low 66F.
