Dream Cruise Forecast: Perfect Weather For Cruising Woodward -- But It's Going To Be Hot

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you're headed to the Woodward Dream Cruise this weekend, don't forget to bring sunglasses -- you're going to need them!

Saturday's forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high around 87 degrees, perfect for riding down Woodward in a classic cruiser or just taking in the sights with friends and family.

"Temperatures will remain on the warm side with just a minimal chance for a shower," said Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus. "The high is in the upper 80s but with the humidity, it could feel closer to 100."

So, it's going to be a hot one Saturday. But let's pump the brakes for just a minute. What about Friday? Madaus said there's a chance for showers and storms.

"It's going to be a warm, humid Friday and feel pretty uncomfortable this afternoon," he said. "We'll see a couple of showers roll through southeast Michigan and later on, thunderstorms will be moving right through the area."

Here's the forecast from the CBS Detroit weather team:

Friday: Cloudy early with scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 86F. Low 66F.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible early in the night. High 87F. Low 67F.

Sunday: A mainly sunny sky. High near 90F. Low 70F.

Monday: Sunny in the morning then increasing clouds with some scattered thunderstorms later in the day. High around 90F. Low 66F.

Tuesday: Mixed clouds and sun with scattered thunderstorms. High 82F. Low 64F.
