Wanted Man Leads Oakland County Deputies On Chase In Stolen Pickup [VIDEO]

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac man wanted for attempted murder and armed robbery in Bloomfield Township led Oakland County Sheriff deputies on a high-speed chase before he was captured.

Brodric Demontray Provost, 31, was wanted for hitting and then running over and beating a 58-year old man.

Provost was spotted on Rockwell Street in Pontiac Thursday afternoon, Sheriff's officials said, but he sped away in a stolen Ford Ranger pickup truck. He ended up driving on the Clinton River Trail before stopping the vehicle and fleeing on foot.

While trying to avoid police, Provost broke into an apartment and tried to barricade himself into a bathroom, Sheriff's officials said. Deputies caught him before the door closed.

Bloomfield Township police say the man who was run over was hospitalized for a couple of days, but is expected to be OK. They say "it's amazing he's still alive."

Provost is charged with assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, and breaking and entering. He was arraigned Friday 48th District Court where bond was set at $1 million.

Sheriff's officials said the truck was stolen in the 1500 Block of Franklin Rd. on Monday.

Additional charges related to that theft and the police chase may come at a later time.
