Several People Injured In Crash On Grand River Avenue

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Authorities say several people were injured in an accident that involved at least two vehicles in Farmington Hills.

The accident happened just before 9 a.m. Saturday morning on westbound Grand River Avenue and Middle Belt Road.

A 19-year-old woman was ejected from the car and was hospitalized in critical condition. The three others were also injured with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately clear, but police believe that alcohol could have been a factor.

The crash happened in the westbound lanes of M-5 but went through the median, blocking two eastbound lanes.

Grand River Avenue was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash scene, but was reopened to traffic around 12:30 p.m.

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
