Police Search For Suspect In Murder Near University Of Detroit Mercy: Do You Recognize This Man? [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are hoping the public can help identify a man who is wanted in connection with a murder that occurred on the west side earlier this month.

The suspect is described only as a black male.

He's wanted in connection with the death of a 51-year-old man who was found dead around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, August 9. Police say the man's body was discovered lying on the grass near a curb in the 3000 block of W. McNichols, in a neighborhood just east of Livernois Avenue near the University of Detroit Mercy.

The victim's identity and cause of death were not immediately revealed.

Police have released a surveillance video that shows the alleged suspect at a nearby store shortly after the murder.
