Murder Victim Remains Unknown Almost 20 Years After Death

PLYMOUTH (WWJ) - Police in Plymouth are hoping that someone will be able to recognize clothing with an Olympic detail to help them solve a cold-case murder mystery.

The identity of the victim is unknown. Police have little to go on but do know that on May 10, 1997 skeletal remains of a white man were found wrapped in carpet along the railroad tracks near Haggerty Road south of Schoolcraft.

Police believe the victim was a military veteran and would now be between the ages of 50 and 70.

The man was about 5'6" to 5'9" tall and was wearing blue shorts and white tube socks with the 1980 Olympics logo "USA 80" on them.
