Veteran Pleads For Help After Therapy Dog Lassie Goes Missing From Clinic

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) A Southfield area veteran who suffers from PTSD is asking for help in the desperate search for her missing therapy dog.

Lena Payton-Webb says she dropped off nine-year-old Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix Lassie for boarding Wednesday night at the Dworkis Dog and Cat Hospital in Southfield.

Three hours later, the hospital reported that Lassie had escaped through a hole in the fence.

"I know she's a mover, she's not like a dog who's going to lay up under a tree so there's no telling where she is at this point," Payton-Webb said.

The dog was last seen Wednesday night at the hospital at 10 and Greenfield.

"Extremely worried, it seems like the entire family is distraught, it's just horrible," Payton-Webb said.
