Stoney's Play Of The Day

By: Mike Stone
@stoney16

One of the problems with gambling is sometimes the pick you make would not be pick you make if you had all the information when you make that pick. Case in point was yesterday morning. I selected the St.Louis Cardinals to beat the Washington Nationals it was with the expectation that scheduled starter Michael Wacha would indeed make his scheduled start. Unfortunately yesterday afternoon the Cardinals announced that Wacha would have the night off. Ryan Zimmerman took advantage,driving in all 4 of Washington's runs in a 4-3 win. Those are the breaks.

Tonight is the kickoff of the 2015 college football season and you might have heard Michigan has a new football coach this season. Jim Harbaugh's Wolverines head into Salt Lake City as 5 point underdogs to the Utah Utes. Michigan was beaten at home by Utah 26-10 last season at Michigan Stadium. We do not know how Michigan will look under the new regime. I do know that Utah is good. Devontae Booker did rush for over 1500 yards,but only 31 of them came in Ann Arbor. Michigan is 0-8 against the spread in their last eight games against the Pac12 and 11-25-1 in their last 37 road games.

As I said, tonight is a mystery and the right move might just be to skip this game and bet against the Tigers, but I like the big games. So tonight while rooting hard for Michigan I am taking the Utes -5 as my PLAY OF THE DAY.

Yesterday -- Cardinals -120 over Washington -- LOSS

Overall record -- 18-10
