Police say the suspect entered the store, approached the employee and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect kept his left hand in his shorts’ pocket during the incident, an action indicating that he had a weapon, according to police — although no weapon was actually seen.

The employee complied with his demand and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled the scene on foot, heading southbound.

The suspect is described as a white male about 30- to 40-years-old, 6’3″ to 6’6″ tall with a thin build and blond hair. He was wearing a light red shirt, checkered pattern shorts and slippers.

Police are trying to obtain security footage from the store and nearby businesses in an attempt to identify the suspect.
