Body Found In Detroit Manhole ID'd As Teen Missing Since July

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities have identified the body found over the weekend in a manhole on Detroit's west side.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office said the body is that of 19-year-old O'Sean Lockett, who has been missing since early July. His death has been ruled a homicide cause by multiple gunshot wounds.

Lockett's body was found Saturday by Detroit Water and Sewage Department employees performing regular maintenance in a manhole near Sorrento and Chalfonte streets.

Family and friends had been looking Lockett since he disappeared on July 6. He was last seen in the 10800 block of Meyers, when his mother dropped him off to meet friends. A $2,500 reward had been offered for information on Lockett's whereabouts.

The case remains under investigation.

Anyone who might have information on the case is urged to contact police at 313-267-4600.
