FORESTVILLE (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say a boat found partially submerged in Lake Huron was owned by a 60-year-old man who was reported missing by his wife.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Department says the search is ongoing for the Macomb Township man after the boat was found Monday. His name was not released.

Police were notified around 12:30 p.m. Monday after a freighter crew reported seeing the bow of a 31-foot Sea Ray Sundancer sticking out of the water. The Sanilac County Sheriff's Office was called to assist in recovering the vessel, which was located in about 150 feet of water roughly seven-and-a-half miles east of Forestville.

Investigators say the boat appears to have been intentionally sunk.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham told reporters that the man may be missing voluntarily. He was reported missing Sept. 1 by his wife, who said hadn't seen him since Aug. 29.

Anyone who might have information on the case is urged to contact police at 586-307-9358.
