Michigan Man Arrested After Woman's Body Found In Trunk

CEDARVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of a 43-year-old Upper Peninsula woman whose body was found in the trunk of her vehicle.

The state police in Gladstone say Thursday in a release that a trooper discovered Jolene Eichhorn's body after finding the vehicle Wednesday morning at the Cedar River State Harbor in Menominee County's Cedarville Township, near Escanaba.

Eichhorn's personal property was in-sight. Authorities checked the trunk after learning that she had failed to show up for work and relatives were unable to contact Eichhorn.

An autopsy was being performed to determine how Eichhorn died.

The 48-year-old suspect was being held in the county jail. He was expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
