MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - A 17-year-old has been arrested after police found a loaded sawed-off shotgun in a backpack outside a western Michigan high school.

Dayvon Davis was arraigned Thursday on gun and resisting police charges according to The Muskegon Chronicle.

Staff at Muskegon Heights Public School Academy called police Wednesday to report an intruder had been in the building. Davis is not a student at the school.

Police say Davis dropped a backpack and ran when officers approached him outside the school. He was later found hiding under a vehicle. The shotgun was found in the backpack.

Davis' bond was set at $100,000. He was not represented Thursday by an attorney.

Muskegon Heights is northwest of Grand Rapids.
