Snyder: Michigan Ideal For Japanese Investment And Growth
LANSING (AP) — Gov. Rick Snyder is trying to convince Japanese companies with ties to the auto industry that Michigan would be an ideal place for them to invest and grow.
Snyder's office says Friday in a release that he and a delegation from Michigan have met with automaker Toyota, and auto suppliers DENSO and the Aisin Group.
Toyota has campuses in Ann Arbor and York Township. DENSO's North American headquarters is in Southfield. The Aisin Group's Technical Center of America headquarters is in Northville.
The meetings are part of Snyder's investment and trade trip to Japan. Snyder then heads to Germany where he will attend Frankfurt's 66th annual auto show.
He returns to Michigan on Sept. 17. He spent time last month on a similar trade mission to China.
