OTTAWA LAKE (WWJ/AP) – Authorities say a truck trailer loaded with sausage was stolen from a Monroe County truck stop.

The truck’s driver told sheriff’s deputies that she parked the refrigerated 53-foot trailer at Big Daddy’s Truck Stop on US-223 in Ottawa Lake on Tuesday evening and left for the night, The Monroe News reported. She had just picked up a load of sausage near Chicago and was headed to Ohio when she stopped.

The driver returned on Wednesday and called police after the truck was nowhere to be found. The truck is valued at around $100,000. It’s not clear how much the sausage inside was worth.
