LAKE ST. CLAIR (WWJ) — Police are searching for a woman who disappeared after two boats collided in Lake St. Clair on Friday night.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham confirmed to WWJ Newsradio 950 that the boats crashed about a mile offshore in Lake St. Clair at around 8 p.m.

Harrison Township Fire Department Battalion Chief Andy Hood said responders pulled five people from the water, one was taken to a nearby hospital.

“We brought our dive team out here, unable to get the divers out to the scene. However, we did have a citizen assist along with the Sheriff’s Department,” Hood said. “At this point, the Sheriff’s Department has a boat out there marking off the area and they will begin the recovery operations likely in the morning.”
