
ST. IGNACE, Mich. (AP) — A teenager who helped his Upper Peninsula high school football team win a homecoming game has been killed in a head-on crash after the dance.
Superintendent Don Gustafson says it’s a “very sad time” in St. Ignace after the death of Mitch Snyder, a student at LaSalle High School and member of a family that’s been in the area for years.

Snyder made eight tackles and recovered a fumble Friday in a 60-0 victory over Mancelona. A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night at the football field.
