Former Congressman John Dingell Recovering After Heart Procedure

DETROIT (WWJ) - A heart procedure has former Congressman John Dingell in the hospital Tuesday.

Dingell, the longest serving member of Congress, was admitted to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit yesterday.

The 89-year old retired after opting not to seek reelection last year.

His wife, Debbie Dingell, won his former seat and is traveling back to Michigan this week.

Dingell is said to be "resting comfortably."

Dingell was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1955 until  2015.
