Fall Festival Takes Place Along Dequindre Cut In Detroit

DETROIT (AP) — A fall festival featuring Halloween activities is taking place along the Dequindre Cut Greenway in Detroit.

"Harvestfest in the D" is Saturday afternoon, with free and family-friendly activities, airbrush tattoos, hayrides and trick-or-treating.

The event near the Dequindre Cut's Gratiot Street entrance is hosted by the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, Eastern Market and the City of Detroit Department of Neighborhoods.

Dan Carmody, president of Eastern Market Corp., says in a statement the event "brings the fall activities kids enjoy on farms all over Michigan down to the heart of the Detroit."

Meanwhile, Detroit plans to host Halloween trick-or-treating along Woodward Avenue in downtown on Oct. 31. The city says details were being finalized.
