Suspect At Large After Woman Held At Gunpoint In Sterling Heights Home

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Sterling Heights police are searching for a possibly armed suspect following a domestic dispute Monday morning.

A woman told police she was being held at gunpoint by her boyfriend at his home in the 13000-block of Imperial Court, near 16 Mile and Schoenherr roads, until she was able to flee to a neighbor's house.

The woman said there were two children in the home.

Lt. David Smith says that when police arrived, with multiple vehicles surrounding the house, they got the kids out safely — but the man had already fled.

"He took off, we believe, initially that he may be on foot," Smith said. "A friend may have picked him up in a car or something; we don't know. But it seems like the cars that come back to him are still at the residence."

Police did not immediately release a description of the suspect.

No one was hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sterling Heights police.
