The dispensing of gasoline into gas cans or other portable containers is prohibited in Detroit through Saturday unless the fuel is needed for stalled vehicles, heating a home or an emergency generator.

The actions are part of Detroit’s annual anti-arson Angels’ Night campaign. Volunteers and city workers will patrol neighborhoods to discourage anyone from setting fires.
