Michigan Bus Driver Pleads Guilty In Fight With 15-Year-Old Passenger [VIDEO]
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ/AP) - A 53-year-old bus driver in western Michigan has pleaded guilty to assault and battery stemming from a fight with a 15-year-old passenger in April.
Alicia Miller entered the plea Monday in Grand Rapids District Court. Although the plea deal with prosecutors includes a recommendation for no jail time, Miller could end up spending 90 days behind bars. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 8.
Miller was charged in May for the assault that happened on The Rapid bus near Union High School in Grand Rapids. Police say the fight started with verbal statements and ended off the bus. The fight was recorded by a bus surveillance camera.
The situation escalated when Miller told the student she was kicked off the bus "for running your mouth."
"Get your little butt out of here, girl, before you get smacked," Miller is heard saying.
"Oh, you're going to smack me," the defiant student questioned back.
"I will," Miller said before exiting her seat.

According to the Grand Rapids Press, the teen involved was to be charged as a juvenile with creating a disturbance, although the outcome of her case is unknown.
Miller earlier was suspended from her job with The Rapid pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
