NFL To Address Concerns Of Fans Puzzled By Uniform Colors

JOHN WAWROW, AP Sports Writer

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The NFL intends to tinker with its "Color Rush" uniform promotion after some colorblind fans couldn't distinguish between the all-red Buffalo Bills and the all-green New York Jets.

In an email to The Associated Press, the league said Friday the NFL will incorporate a colorblindness analysis when designing monochrome alternate team jerseys for next season.

The league was responding to concerns raised by fans who had difficulty Thursday night distinguishing between the scarlet red Bills and Kelly green Jets.

Various studies have found that red-green color blindness is the most prevalent and affects between 10 million to 13 million Americans.

The Bills-Jets game was the first of four this season in which teams will wear one-color uniforms. Next season, all Thursday night games will feature teams wearing alternate uniforms.
