Yoenis Cespedes reportedly always had a desire to re-sign with the Tigers, even after he was traded to the Mets this summer. And after leading New York to a World Series appearance, coming back to Detroit could still be in the cards.

According to CBS, the Tigers are looking at outfielder options, including Cespedes and Alex Gordon.

During his 102 games with Detroit last season, Cespedes batted .293 with 18 home runs, 61 RBI and a slugging percentage of .506. He exploded once he arrived in New York, batting .287 with 17 home runs and 44 RBI over 57 games. The Mets had needed an offensive option prior to their World Series run, and Cespedes ended up being a saving grace.

According to ESPN, Cespedes is asking for more than the Mets are willing to give – including a deal that would stretch over six years.

Gordon - another piece of this year's World Series, this time on the winning team in the Royals - has played his entire nine-year career in Kansas City. He batted .271 last year, with 13 home runs and 48 RBI. He's been an All-Star the last three years.

Both Gordon and Cespedes are primarily leftfielders. General manager and vice president of baseball operations Al Avila has previously said that pitching is the top priority for the Tigers' offseason. Adding another blockbuster deal to the payroll would likely put the Tigers close to or above the luxury tax limit.
