It Costs More To See Michigan In The Citrus Bowl Than MSU In The Playoff Game

I have been a fan of Michigan State athletics for as long as I can remember. My dad always says he raised me the right way.

Up until a few years ago I never thought I would see Michigan State be a great football team. Then Mark Dantonio arrived and turned the program around.

After Michigan State topped Iowa in the Big Ten Championship Game, all MSU fans could rejoice as their team is playing in the College Football Playoff.

No matter how great they are, there isn't anything Michigan State can do to avoid comparison to Michigan, though.

That tweet was sent out and the first thing I could think of is of course the cheapest seat for Michigan State vs. Alabama will be cheaper than Michigan vs. Florida since AT&T Stadium holds 80,000 fans -- so they want to sell out the stadium. 71,465 were on hand last season to see Michigan State play Baylor.

The Citrus Bowl Stadium has a seating capacity of 65,000. Last season, 48,624 attended the game to see Minnesota take on Missouri.

I have checked on StubHub.com and the cheapest ticket for the Michigan State game is $68.00 for standing room only. The most expensive seat for the game is $69,969 for a seat in the lower corner north.

The cheapest ticket to see Michigan take on Florida is $85.10. The most expensive is $1,160 in the plaza end zone.

Amid an outcry, the guy who first ran the numbers for social media defended himself -- and piled on to MSU fans.

What do you make of this information? Is this just a stadium issue or are people really willing to pay more for Michigan tickets than Michigan State?
