2 Arrested Trying To Meet Teen For Sex In Police Sting

HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) -- Macomb County Sheriff detectives made two separate arrests in connection with child sexual abuse.

Mark Astalos, 40, of Brownstown and 59-year-old Larry Previts -- a resident of Romance, Arkansas, who was living and working in the Taylor area -- have been charged with numerous counts of child sexually abusive activity.

The men were caught in a website sting operation, where a Macomb County Sheriff's Deputy pretended to be the mother of a 14-year-old girl.

In a series of e-mails and text messages to follow, Astalos allegedly described himself as a single father and sent graphic and detailed messages to the detective, including a photograph of himself dressed in a paramedic uniform.

Both men arrived in Harrison Township seperately with the intent of engaging in sexual relations with the young girl, but were promptly arrested.

Astalos remains in jail until his court date on the Dec. 23. Previts was released on $100,000 bond with a tether and is also due in court on Dec. 23.
